Our Story
The company has been in operation in Papua New Guinea since October 2000 first as Proscan Limited and then in 2004 it began trading as Rapidfones. In 2012, Rapidfones came under new ownership and management and has since expanded and reached new heights. Under the new management, Rapidfones is working with several companies building strong brands which in turn has driven increased market share, revenue growth and profits.
Rapidfones is the Master Distributor of Digicel, the country’s largest leading network provider. As the Master Distributor for Digicel, we distributes phone cards, mobile phones and accessories nationwide.
Rapidfones is part of the Sinowell Group of Companies which consists of 19 companies.
Management
Michael Lin – Director & Chairman
From humble beginnings, Michael started as an ordinary employee and worked his way to become the General Manager for the TST Group of Companies. After a lengthy tenure with the TST Group of Companies, Michael branched out and is now the Chairman of several companies of which he formed during his 26 years in Papua New Guinea. He is also currently the President of the China-PNG Friendship Association.
Product & Service
Rapidfones has outlets in Port Moresby, Lae, Kokopo, Mt Hagen and Alotau, retailing entry model phones to high end models and phone card credit. Our authorised mobile phone dealers around the country range from small trade stores to supermarkets. The majority of our sales is from wholesale, through wholesale channels our mobile phones and phone cards reach retailers and resellers in remote villages of the country.
Rapidfones product line covers a wide range of mobile phones and accessories, branded electronic gadgets, Hi-fi stereos, TV’s, speaker systems, watches, electrical appliances and mobile phone credit.
Rapidfones is the Authorised Distributor for Alcatel, Huawei, Cherry Mobile, Samsung & Red-X mobile phones in Papua New Guinea.
